Clusters in the <scp>Disperse</scp> cosmic web

چکیده
Galaxy cluster mass halos ("clusters") in a dark matter simulation are matched to nodes several different cosmic webs found using the Disperse web finder. The have smoothings and parameter choices; for each, 4 methods considered matching clusters. For most of webs, outnumber clusters, but not every has node match (and sometimes $>1$ matches same node). clusters frequently lacking distribution local shear trends perhaps merger histories. It might be interesting see what other ways, e.g., observational properties, these differ. with smoothing $\leq$ 2.5 $Mpc/h$, all restrictive criterion, $\sim$3/4 always counterpart. nearest given vice versa, within twice length, obey mass-Disperse density relation. Cluster pairs where both can also assigned filaments between those nodes, as varied, such do remain. There is an enhancement subhalo counts halo pairs, averaging over increases enhancement. approach here lends itself comparing across many constructions, fixed underlying make correspondence.

Cosmic Rays in Clusters of Galaxies
We argue that clusters of galaxies have an intergalactic medium, which is permeated by strong magnetic fields and also has a contribution of pressure from cosmic rays. These two components of total pressure are probably highly time dependent, and range probably between 1/10 of the gas pressure up to equipartition between gas pressure and the sum of the two other components. Radio galaxies are l...
متن کاملAlignment of Voids in the Cosmic Web
We investigate the shapes and mutual alignment of voids in the large scale matter distribution of a ΛCDM cosmology simulation. The voids are identified using the novel WVF void finder technique. The identified voids are quite nonspherical and slightly prolate, with axis ratios in the order of c : b : a ≈ 0.5 : 0.7 : 1. Their orientations are strongly correlated with significant alignments spann...
متن کاملThe cosmic web in our own backyard.
On the largest scales, matter is strung out on an intricate pattern known as the cosmic web. The tendrils of this web should reach right into our own cosmic backyard, lacing the Galactic halo with lumps of dark matter. The search for these lumps, lit up by stars that formed within them, is a major astronomical endeavor, although it has failed to find the huge expected population. Is this a dark...
متن کاملDim Baryons in the Cosmic Web
The distribution of baryons beyond galaxies is descibed. The majority of the baryons, which represent 4% of the cosmic mass and energy budget, lie far from individual galaxies in the diffuse intergalactic medium (IGM). Many of these baryons are in a warm phase that can be probed by quasar absorption in the Lyman-α line of hydrogen. The mature field of quasar spectroscopy can diagnose the locati...
متن کاملVoids and the Cosmic Web: cosmic depression & spatial complexity
Voids form a prominent aspect of the Megaparsec distribution of galaxies and matter. Not only do they represent a key constituent of the Cosmic Web, they also are one of the cleanest probes and measures of global cosmological parameters. The shape and evolution of voids are highly sensitive to the nature of dark energy, while their substructure and galaxy population provides a direct key to the...
